Loire Valley Château Ticket Prices for 2026, and Which Fares Include Them
The short answer. There is no Loire Valley ticket. Each château sells its own. In 2026 an adult pays €19 at Chenonceau, €17.30 at Amboise, €20 at Clos Lucé and €14 at Villandry. At Chambord you pay €21 as an EEA national or resident and €31 otherwise. Some day tours put the tickets in the fare, so check before you buy them twice.
The valley is a region, not a site with a gate. So when you search for tickets, what you need is a list of château prices, and a way to tell which Loire Valley day tours already pay for them. Here are both. Every figure below comes from the château's own website, read in September 2026. Prices change, so verify before visiting.

Children, students and reduced prices
Children cut the bill more than any discount. The rules differ at every château, so read the row for yours.
- Chambord: free for under-18s on an individual visit.
- Chenonceau: €15 aged 7 to 18, free under 7; seniors 65+ and students €16.
- Amboise: €11 aged 7 to 18, free under 7; students €14.40.
- Clos Lucé: €15 aged 7 to 18, free under 7; a family ticket for two adults and two children is €60.
- Villandry: €8 for château and gardens, €5.50 for gardens, aged 8 to 17 and students under 26.
- Chinon fortress: free under 7.

Chambord's two prices, and why they differ
From 14 January to 31 December 2026, Château de Chambord is testing a two-tier price. Nationals and residents of the European Economic Area pay €21. Everyone else pays €31. The EEA is the 27 EU countries plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, so a visitor from the UK, the US or Canada pays €31 unless they live in the EEA.
It is an experiment for 2026, so the price for 2027 is not yet known. If you are booking next year, check chambord.org before you budget.
Chenonceau: brochure or audioguide, and the timed slot
At Château de Chenonceau the only choice is how you want the story told: €19 with a printed brochure or €24 with an audioguide. At busy times the château makes a timed slot compulsory. If you buy through a reseller that cannot book a slot, you are given one when you arrive at the entrance gate, which may not be the time you wanted.
Which fares already include the tickets
This is where the sums get interesting. A tour that includes admission looks expensive until you add the tickets to the cheaper one.

Fares are per person, in US dollars, as captured in September 2026. Where the table says "not listed", ask the operator or budget for your own tickets.
A worked example: is the ticket-inclusive day better value?
Take the three-château day from Avenue de Wagram. As a non-European adult you would pay €31 at Chambord, €19 at Chenonceau and €17.30 at Amboise: €67.30 in all. As a European you would pay €57.30. On the wine and castles day trip from Paris, all of that is already inside the fare, with the van, tolls and parking.
Now compare two days from Tours by the same operator. The Chambord and Chenonceau tour without lunch lists both entrance fees. The day with lunch at Villesavin lists lunch but not admission. Which is better value depends on whether its operator confirms the tickets, so ask before you book.
What a two-day self-guided trip costs in tickets
If you plan to drive or take the train, add up your tickets before you compare them with a tour. Here is one common route for a non-European adult, as of September 2026.
- Day one, around Amboise: Chenonceau €19, the Château Royal d'Amboise €17.30 and Clos Lucé €20, so €56.30.
- Day two, Chambord and the west: Chambord €31 and Villandry €14, so €45.
- Two days in all: €101.30 per adult in admission, before transport, parking and food.

Where to buy direct
Chambord and Chenonceau both sell their own tickets online, through their official ticket shops. At Chenonceau, buying direct is also how you choose your timed slot yourself. For the other châteaux, start from each château's own website rather than a reseller, so that the price you pay is the one in the tables.
Prices to check on the day
Several châteaux near the tour routes are missing from the tables: Azay-le-Rideau, Blois, Cheverny, Ussé and Fontevraud Abbey. If your plans include one, check its current price on its own website the week you travel. Where each one sits is on the Loire Valley map.
